Meet Carter
Meet Carter. Carter came back to American Lab Rescue after spending several years with a family - he is sad his mom and dad got divorced and were unable to keep him. He is sadder though he had to have a large mass removed from his back side .... he is uncomfortable and in pain but handling it like a trooper. We have to wait a week or so to find out the results ... He is a young 5 years old and we are hoping for good news. The growth has been there for awhile but his owners never chose to remove it. The surgery to remove this growth cost American Lab Rescue $1162!!! Please help us recover from this large bill and help other dogs. To donate to Carter's surgery please chip in ....
Meet Finnigan
We expect his
costs to exceed $1300 |

Finnegan needs a second chance at finding a family, but first, he needs a lot of TLC and some expensive medical treatments. Finnegan was purchased from a breeder as a baby, and he lived a fun-filled life surrounded by lots of children and other dogs. However, as he reached his first birthday, some skin issues began to surface. He started losing his hair in spots, and soon he was mostly bald with patches of thick, itchy skin all over his body. His vet prescribed a number of medications for a few months, but his family didn't have time to keep up with the treatments, and they decided it was time to euthanize him. The vet had fallen in love with him and believed that medical care could cure this boy's problems, so his family agreed to let us take him into our rescue. Finnegan is in boarding right now and is under constant vet care. He is on antibiotics and antihistamines to help soothe his irritated skin, ivermectin to help control the demodectic mange, and he is receiving regular medicated baths to treat his seborrhea. His doctors are very optimistic about his prognosis, especially after assessing this guy's wonderful, happy-go-lucky personality! Please help support this sweet boy by donating what you can... he promises to devote the rest of his life to one very lucky family once his skin is healthy again! click here for more pics
